List of what I have learned this semester

I have learned so much taking microcomputing systmes this semester. I have learned how to use spreadsheets, how to make a website using codes, a brochure, and some things on word that I did not know about such as tabs.

I have found this website so that people can get an idea of what it is like for teachers to use blogs in other countries. This is a website dealing with a teacher who is giving tips about english in Korea.

Ipods

Ipods have come a very long way in a short amount of time it has been out on the market! At first it was used just for music, but now it is use for any other things. It is also being used for the classroom. Students can get audio and video information of what they are learning in the classroom.
Using Ipods has definitely made it easier for many. Many colleges throughout the United States are finding it easier to use Ipods in the classroom. It is not only improving the attendance, but the way the students learn. One good website to get information from about Ipods is

Seymour Papert

Seymour Papert has done alot dealing with children and technology. He has gone all over the world trying to enhance the use of technology (computers) and get children to use their minds. He wants children to be creative and to realize that technology is a great tool for learning.

Spreadsheets

I have learned a lot about spreadsheets. I have learned that there are easier ways/ shortcuts to finish spreadsheets. We have done so much in class when it comes to dealing with spreadsheets.
One link definitely gave alot of information dealing with spreadsheets. spreadsheet link. It talks about what a spreadsheet is and how to use a spreadsheet. It is definitely a great link to get help from if you are having problems using spreadsheets.

Amber Ivery's Website

I just reviewed Amber Ivery's website from the 9:30 Tu/Thurs class. Her website was very cute! She did a very good job of describing her baby girl.

Website

I have reviewed Laura Eubanks website! Overall, it is very good. The shows she chosen were very interesting and actually of common interest! While reviewing her site, I noticed a few minor details that can be fixed in order to improve her website. Even though her buttons worked, I first noticed that her index button was not in the right spot on the first page as it is on the others. The second thing I noticed is that she did not have all 12 buttons on each page...besides her index page. Besides that, she did a good job!!!!!!!! GREAT JOB Laura!!!!! :)

Happy Belated V-Day

Hey guys! I think I told every1 in my last blog...but just in case I forgot..here u go! Figured I would tell every1 happy belated V-day!

My Birthday!!!!

So...all I have to say is that today is my birthday and I am now 22 years old. You always hear the saying "do you feel any older"...and I would definitely have to say I don't feel any older yet. haha Anywho, well I hope everyone has a good day and a great V-day tom. See ya thursday!!

What do I think about Blogging?....

It's been about 3 wks since we have been taking microcomputing systems and so far, everything has been going great. Besides working on our presentations and now our trifold brochure, the entire class has been posting blogs and commenting on each other on a daily basis. Now that everyone has started to get the hang of it, it is a great tool!! Even though it has been only 3 weeks that the class has been posting and commenting blogs, I have been doing it for quite a while now. It is somewhat different, but I believe Facebook has become very popular with posting blogs and commenting you'r friends. Yes, it is exactly the same as what the we are doing with blogging, but it has the same aspect. Another website that students, especially myself like to do, is post blogs on Myspace. Myspace is alos another great way to keep in touch with their peers and to say what is on their mind.
When it comes to posting blogs, I believe it will benifit the K-12 classrooms. It is a great way to start off the day and to tell what is on the students mind even, especially if it is not such a great blog. I don't know if the kindegarden and first grade classrooms would benefit from it so much, but I know that the 2nd to highschoolers would. The negative side about blogging is that if the teacher does not limit their time on the computer, some children will want to always stay on to post blogs and will probably never want to do anything else because the computer will always be on their mind. On the other hand, as for the positive side of blogging, it is a great way to have the students communicate with their peers.

I'm just about to leave for class...I was lucky not to have my first class today which was awesome....I definitely got enough sleep. haha It kinda stinks that I only have to go to school for only one hour...but oh well.
